Maria DosAnjos (Duarte) Tavares, age 79, passed away February 19, 2011. She was the wife of Renato F. Tavares and daughter of the late Firmino and Gloria (Reis) Duarte Oliveira. Born in Fernais da Luz, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was a Fall River resident for over 40 years. She was a retired machine operator at Reliable Sportswear and a parishioner of SS. Peter & Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church.
She was the mother of Analia T. Colicchio and her husband Neil of Groton, MA, Fatima T. Silvia of Fall River, Marie T. Pickering and her husband Daniel of Assonet, Ronald M. Tavares of CA and Steven M. Tavares of FL; sister of Rosa Patricio, Firmino Sousa, Alfredo Duarte and the late Lourdes Duarte and the late Agostinho Sousa; grandmother of Amanda, Allyson, Neil and Nicholas and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River Thursday at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in SS Peter & Paul Parish of Holy Cross Church, Fall River at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery.
