WORCESTER-Peter A. Lavin, 61, of 321 Mill Street, loving husband, father, grandfather and son died Thursday, January 8th in UMass Hospital after a short illness. He leaves his wife of 38 years, Brenda A. (MacDonald) Lavin, a son Christopher W. and his wife Jennifer L. Lavin both of Leicester, a daughter Jill R. Lavin of Worcester, a grandson Connor J. Lavin of Leicester, a granddaughter Mackenzie A. Lavin of Leicester and his father Angel J. Lavin of Montpelier, VT.
He was born in Hartford, CT, and raised in Montpelier, VT. He graduated from Montpelier High School and attended Northeastern University. Mr. Lavin worked as an operations manager for G & W Transportation Co. for many years. He was a past president of Joe Schwartz Little League in Worcester and a past vice president of Worcester Youth Football. Mr. Lavin was an avid sports fan, who especially enjoyed playing golf with family and friends. Most of all he loved being a grampa.
The funeral is Monday, January 12th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, January 11th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
