TEWKSBURY: Rose Marie "Chickie"(Covino)Parisi, age 80, of Tewksbury, formally of East Boston, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 19, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Parisi Sr.
Born in Boston on May 16, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Margaret (Granese) Covino. She later moved to Tewksbury and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Prior to her retirement, she was a dedicated employee of the Tewksbury Hospital, where she worked for over 20 years and where she touched over a thousand patients with her love.
She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed cooking recipes from her library of cook books which she collected from her many travels across the country.
She was the devoted mother of Rosemarie "Marie" Dingman and her husband Dennis of Panama City Beach FL, Margaret "Peggie" Eye and her husband Thomas of Merritt Island FL, Joseph M. Parisi, Jr. and his wife Katie of Lowell and Christine Mazza and her husband Salvatore "Sal" of Salem NH. Dear sister of Josephine Ruggiero and her husband Joseph Sr. of East Boston, Damiano Pignato and his wife Karen of Florida, Mary Carrozza and her husband Robert of East Boston and the late Patricia Pignato. Cherished grandmother of Carrie Anne(Eye) Jenkins and her husband Scott, Michael Eye and his wife Kimberly, Bryan Fowler, Sara(Parisi)Bruce and her husband Colby,Jennifer Fowler, Joseph Parisi,III and Joshua Mazza. Adored Great-Grandmother "GG" of Max and Brody Jenkins, Campbell and Morgan Eye.Loving niece of Joseph and Katherine Oliveri of East Boston. Also survived by her many fond cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Calling hours Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Wed., Feb. 23, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
