Irene F. Pelletier, 87, of Derry, NH died Saturday February 19, 2011 in the Hillsborough County Nursing Home, Goffstown, NH. Mrs. Pelletier was born in Nashua, NH on March 6, 1923, daughter of Isidore and Marguerite (Van Ness) Raymond. She was raised in Nashua and was a 1941 graduate of Nashua High School. Before living in Londonderry, Mrs. Pelletier was a resident of Derry, NH for many years. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry where she was a member of the Tabernacle Society and the Catholic Daughters. Mrs. Pelletier was active with the Sweet Adelines in Derry and sang with the quartette Katzenjammer Mamma. She and her husband Phil also enjoyed square dancing with the Space Town Squares in Derry.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Philip M. Pelletier of Bedford, NH, six sons, Philip C. Pelletier of Lehigh Acres, FL, Robert F. Pelletier of Bow, NH, William J. Pelletier of Moultonborough, NH, Kenneth P. Pelletier of Apopka, FL, Peter A. Pelletier of Derry, and Richard A. Pelletier of Auburn, NH, three daughters, Patricia E. Edsall of Bedford, Joanne Peterson of Bow, and Cathy Steele of Hooksett, NH, 21 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Tuesday February 22, 2011 from 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 249 Canal St., Manchester, NH 03101-2316 or to the Mary and John Elliot Charitable Foundation, *Earmark for Behavioral Health Services, One Elliot Way, Manchester, NH 03103 .
