Mrs. Barbara Ann Palmer, age 66, wife of Mr. Billy Palmer of Old Forge Road, Pilot Mountain N. C. passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. Mrs. Palmer was born in Surry County to the late Ellis Fred and Minnie E. Rogers Jester. She was a well known local landscape artist who used Pilot Mountain and the surrounding area for her subject matter in her paintings. She created and designed the remembrance ornaments for Cox-Needham Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain for their annual Holiday remembrance program each year. Barbara was church pianist, treasure, and a member of Faith Baptist church in Pinnacle, N. C. Surviving is her husband of 49 years, Billy Palmer, of the home. One son and daughter-in-law: Jason and Stephanie Palmer, Pilot Mountain, N. C. Two Grandchildren; Mychalah Palmer and Timothy Branson.Two Sisters: Jean Wallace, Pilot Mountain, NC and Judy Nodine, Troutman, NC. Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother. A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church in Pinnacle NC by Pastor Michael Hewett. The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral services.
