Mary Ann Tolley Jones, age 72, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She had previously been a resident at Roman Eagle Memorial Home.
Born February 25, 1938 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late John M. Tolley, Sr. and Ruby Cassidy Tolley. She lived her life in Danville and was employed by Dan River Mills as a weaver and later worked as a sitter for Commonwealth Home Health Care. She was a member of Glen Hill Baptist Church. Her husband, Douglas Edward Jones, predeceased her.
Survivors include one son: John Thomas Jones of Westover Drive; four sisters: Betty London and her husband Melvin of Danville, Linda Sue Hawkins and her husband Jack of Danville, Lucille Hobbs and her husband Charles of Danville, and June Marie Stephens and her husband Billy of Oak Island, NC; two brothers: Dennis Ray Tolley of Danville and Perry Lee Tolley of Tilliary,North Carolina; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Douglas Edward Jones and Nathan Daniel Jones, one sister, Alice Faye Tolley, and one brother, John M. Tolley, Jr.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Donald Mahan will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Swicegood Funeral Home on Thursday evening, February 17, 2011 from 7 until 8:30 p.m., and at other times, they will be at the residence of her sister, Lucille Hobbs, 163 American Legion Blvd, Danville.
