Obituary

WEST BOYLSTON-Benjamin M. Norton,
(1990 - 2011)

Benjamin M. Norton, 20, died Monday February 14, at UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester MA. The son of Joseph P. and Mary M. (Moriarty) Norton, was raised in West Boylston.

A 2008 graduate of West Boylston High School, Ben played soccer, and tennis where he was named a Central Mass All-Star his senior year. Ben attended the Florida Institute of Technology for two years. He transferred last year to be closer to home, to UMass Lowell where he continued his study in Electrical Engineering. Ben worked between semesters at Raytheon Company, and at Biopharm Engineered Systems in Andover, MA perfecting the skills acquired in the classroom.

Ben was blessed with a curious mind, a gentle spirit, and a keen sense of humor. A boogie board, some surf, and the company of cousins would result in a riot of laughter and lighted hearted chaos.

He felt deeply about his family. Whether listening to music, or watching a basketball game at home, Ben drew quiet strength from his family. He was a great son, brother, cousin, and nephew. He was a gift to his family.

Ben is survived by his parents, his sister, Jessica, and brother Lucas, all of West Boylston, his paternal grandparents, Joe and Peggy Norton of Ashland, MA, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Next summer, at the foot of the ramp, as we look out at the ocean, he will be with us. He will be at that special place on the beach.

The Funeral will be held Saturday, February 19, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St. with a Mass 10 AM in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Friday February 18, between 4 and 8 PM at the funeral home. To place an on-line condolence, please visit. www.faybrothers.com
