Obituary

Jeanne E. Anderson, a resident of Canton, formerly of Vineland, New Jersey, passed away on Friday February 11, 2011 at the Hellenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canton, Massachusetts. She was 88 years old.

Born on March 13, 1922 in North Adams, Massachusetts, she was a loving daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha ( Barker ) Anderson. She attended North Adams Public Schools and later received her B.S. Degree in Nursing from the Catholic University in Washington, D.C. and her M.S. Degree in Nursing from Boston University.

She was employed as a Nursing Administrator and Director of Nursing for several hospitals which included the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London, Connecticut, North Adams Hospital in North Adams, Massachusetts and Newcomb Hospital in Vineland, New Jersey. She was also a Nursing Instructor and Assistant Professor at both the Ohio State and Penn State Universities Schools of Nursing.

Jeanne was a member and attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton, Massachusetts. She was also a volunteer at the Norwood Hospital and was also a SHINE Counselor and a volunteer for Hessco elder Services. She was also a very dedicated Docent at the Fuller Art Museum in Brockton, Massachusetts.

She is survived by her sister Dorothy Breen of South Burlington, Vermont and her brother - in- law Donald Perreault of Thousand Oaks, California. She was also a sister to the late Claire Fitzpatrick, Ruth Beaudin and Phyllis Perreault. Other survivors include her nieces and nephews, Bruce Fitzpatrick, Jean Fitzpatrick, Dr. Tom Breen M.D., Terry Breen, Tim Breen, Susan Bombardier, Mike Beaudin, Patricia Katz, Annette Perreault, Denise Rodeheaver, Madeleine Beezer, Jacqueline Gonzales, Suzanne Perreault, John Perreault and James Perreault.

Visiting hours to which friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend will be held on Wednesday February 16, 2011 from 5 – 7 P.M. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday February 17, 2011 at 9 A.M. from the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:30 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Rt. 27, Stoughton. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hellenic Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, 601 Sherman Street, Canton, MA 02021 in Jeanne’s memory, would be appreciated.
