Obituary

Brandon, FL/ Salem, NH - Hilda L. (Goulart) Amaral, wife of the late Antone C. Amaral, to whom she was happily married for 50 years, died at Lawrence General Hospital on Feb. 11, 2011.
She was 92.
Born in Bristol, RI, she was the daughter of the late Jose H. and Marie L. (Moitoza) Goulart.
Educated in Cambridge, MA schools, she spent most of her youth in Dighton, MA.
As a young woman, she received a medal after saving the lives of two children trapped in a burning house.
A plane spotter during WW II and a Girl Scout leader, Mrs. Amaral was a retired employee of the MA Dept. of Public Works, and was an active member of the former Ladies Aux VFW Rapoza-Knott Post in N. Dighton, MA.
She lived in FL for the past 26 years.
A communicant of the former St. Joseph Church in N. Dighton, St. Clements Church in Plant City FL, and Nativity Catholic Church in Brandon, FL, she more recently attended St. Joseph Church in Salem, NH.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis O’Grady and her husband Thomas of Salem NH; two grandchildren, Daniel O’Grady of Salem, NH and Lauren O’Grady of Brandon FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Dedicated to her family, Hilda loved to crochet and sew.
She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, on Wednesday, Feb. 16th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Nicholas of Myra Church, N. Dighton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 15th from 5 to 8 p.m.
