Nellie Bunn Parker Wade, 97, of Water Valley, MS died Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Yalobusha Nursing Facility. She was born to Sam and Laura Ann Thompson Parker in De Bastrop township, Arkansas in 1914. She worked many years as manager of Rayford's Shoes at the Southland Mall in Memphis, TN. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, but most of all she loved her family and grandchildren. Nellie was a member of First Christian Church.
Services are planned for Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Bro. David Freeman will conduct the celebration of life ceremony. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with David Newman, Kenneth James, Brian Johnson, Sean Ostrander, Michael Eubanks, and Bill Taylor serving as pallbearers.
In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Andrew Wade in 1966, and her daughter, Norma Jean Childs Harwell.
She is survived by two grandsons, Marty Harwell of Sacramento, CA and Michael Harwell of Woodland Hills, CA; four nieces, Bonnie James, Connie West, Vickie Johnson, and Kay Newman; two great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
