Antone G. Nobrega, age 89, of Fall River passed away February 8, 2011. He was the husband of Olga (Arruda) Nobrega and the son of the late Antonio G. & Angelina (Faria) Nobrega. He was a US Army veteran of WW II, having served as a Chief Radar Operator in the 505th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, and received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, and the Victory Medal. Prior to retiring he worked as a cutter at Har-Lee Mfg. for 17 years, Stella Ann Frocks for 20 years, and Reliable Sportswear for 3 years. Antone was also a life member of the I.L.G.W.U., a Marion Medal Recipient and a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church.
Antone was the father of Carol Ann and her husband Bob Bigelow of Fall River, Joy Elizabeth and her husband Bob Brodeur of Westport, Nancy Ann and her husband Brian Wagner of Fall River and Laurie Ann and her husband Kevin Kerrigan of Swansea, grandfather of 11, great grandfather of 7 and the uncle of several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Theresa Lambert, Manuel G. Nobrega, Laura Nobrega and Constance Souza.
Private funeral arrangements were under the direction of MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River.
