Rita (Shea) Webster, 94, a lifelong resident of Natick, passed away on February 11, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late George Webster who passed away in 1996.
Born, raised, and educated in Natick, Mrs. Webster was the daughter of the late John & Nora (Conneely) Shea. She was a graduate of Natick High School where she was a member of the basketball team and Burdett Business School. During WWII Mrs. Webster was employed as a stenographer for the Department of the Navy in Norfolk, VA. After returning to Natick, she was employed as a secretary at Babson Reports, the Babson College Library, and the Wellesley College Library. Mrs. Webster enjoyed crocheting, playing the organ, vacationing on Marco Island, Fl and travelling to the Elms in NH. Above all else, Mrs. Webster enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Webster is survived by her 3 children, Sharon Lockhart and her husband James of Natick, Richard Webster and his wife Mary of Medway, and Kenneth Webster and his wife Diane of Natick; 9 grandchildren, Jim, Kelly, Michael, Kevin, Trisha, Suzanne, Spencer, Maggie, and Nora; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Helen Parker of Natick; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Chief Joseph Shea, Francis Shea, Leo Shea, Robert Shea, James Shea, Thomas Shea, Elsie Shea, Irene Shea, Esther Hart, and Marian Shea.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Mrs. Webster’s funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) NATICK on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 9:00 AM to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church, Natick at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 from 3-6 PM.
