WORCESTER___Jozef Zegan, 70, of 17 Scott St., died Saturday Jan. 3 in St. Vincent Hospital.
He leaves his wife, Daniela (Jonczyk) Zegan; a daughter, Beata B. wife of Zenon Malkowski of Charlton; two sons, Wlodzimierz Zegan and his wife Bogumila of Warczawa, Poland; and Slawomir Zegan and his wife Anna of Kielce, Poland and four grandchildren. He was born and raised in Karcznice Kielce, Poland. His mother, Julia Surmacz died in 1996. He has resided here since 1978.
Mr. Zegan was a machine operator 23 years for Lundquist Tool Co., now known as Lutco, Inc., and retired in 2002. Before then he was a train operator in Poland several years. He was a veteran of the Polish Army. Mr. Zegan was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.
The funeral will be held on Thursday Jan. 8 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERA HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday Jan. 7 from 5 to 8 p.m.
