Ethel M. (Messinger) Fairweather, age 80, of Huntley, IL, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at the Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL.
She was born and educated in Newton, MA. She later graduated with a BA from Southern NH University. She was a resident of Illinois for the past 7 years, formerly of Salem, NH, where she lived for 45 years.
Mrs. Fairweather was a retired social worker for the State of NH. She was a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Salem, NH. She was active in the Salem Democratic Party and ran for Representative. She was active with the Greater Salem Caregivers and with SARC. She loved traveling, but most of all her family was everything to her, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Richard Fairweather of Huntley, IL

Brother: Robert Kiley of Needham, MA
Sister: Noreen Knight of East Bridgewater, MA
Grandchildren: Christopher & Jessica Moquin of Illinois

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 18th at 11 AM at St. David’s Episcopal Church, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Feb. 17th from 4-7 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
