Danvers, MA---Constance S. "Connie" Eaton, 84 of Danvers, MA, beloved wife of Elmer C. Eaton, Jr., died peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2011 at her son's home in Derry, NH after a brief illness. Born in Haverhill, MA on March 3, 1926, a daughter of the late George F. and Mertie (Thurston) Stone. She was raised by her uncle and aunt, George Stone, Jr. and Marion Stone. Connie and her husband, Elmer "Bud", settled in Hamilton, MA where they raised their two children, John and Cynthia.
She worked for many years at Gorton's of Gloucester until her retirement. Connie loved her condo in Danvers, MA and her precious kitty, "Ms. Lucee." She was blessed by many dear friends with whom she enjoyed going to lunch. She loved reading and going to the movies. She enjoyed her annual vacation to her daughter's home in Florida as well as her weekend trips to Derry to spend time with her grandsons, Jake and Sam Eaton. Connie was especially proud of her two grandsons and their amazing accomplishments.
Connie is survived by her devoted daughter, Cynthia Burkhardt and her husband Richard of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a loving son, John K. Eaton and his wife Mary of Derry, NH; and two grandsons: Jake and Sam Eaton, both of Derry, NH; two cousins, Allan and Robert Stone and their children, Debbie, Carrie, Bonnie and Wayne; as well as many dear friends.
There will be no services. Contributions in her memory may be made to The Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, Team Alcie's Pride, P.O. Box 3595, Boston, MA 02241-3595. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry handled the arrangements.
