WESTON; Robert Weihmayer, 57, died peacefully at his residence in Weston on Sunday, February 6, 2011 following a long and valiant battle with melanoma.
He was born in Saarlouis, Germany on November 6, 1953 the son of Albert Weihmayer and Friedel (Schmidt) Weihmayer both of Montreal, Canada.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife Sandra Horowitz, MD of Weston and his daughters Erika V. Weihmayer of Montreal, Canada and Melissa F. Weihmayer of Weston. He was the brother of Richard Weihmayer and Ingrid Weihmayer and her husband Louis Hamel and their son Alexandre Hamel all of Montreal, Canada. He was the brother-in-law of Ron Horowitz and his wife Nancy Horowitz and their children, Alexander, Daniel and Victoria Horowitz all of Cypress, California. Also survived by his dear friends Sam and Jose Bak of Weston.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the First Parish Church of Weston, 349 Boston Post Road, Weston Center.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations in his memory may be sent to the Melanoma Research Fund, under the direction of Dr. Don Lawrence, Massachusetts General Hospital Development Office, 165 Cambridge Street, Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114 and would be greatly appreciated.
