Obituary

Maria “Mary” A. (Rossi) Iacovelli, 93, of Cortland Place, Greenville, formerly of Ruff Stone Road, Greenville, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, February 5, 2011. She was the wife of the late Bernardo “Benny” Iacovelli.

Born in Providence on November 5, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Fiorante) Rossi. She was a stepdaughter of Vincent Rossi.

Mrs. Iacovelli was employed in the dietary department of the Jane Brown Hospital in Providence prior to retiring.

She had been a resident of Greenville for fifty eight years.

As a devout Catholic, she was a communicant of St. Philip’s Church in Greenville for fifty eight years.

She leaves two children: Robert L. Iacovelli of Ormond Beach, Florida and Bernard A. Iacovelli of Greenville; three sisters: Christina Coia , Gloria Ruscetta Angela Filippone, three grandchildren: Robert N. Iacovelli, David Iacovelli Donna Morin, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Eleanor Clay, Francis O’Kane and Anthony Rossi.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Monday, February 14, 2011 from 8:30 – 9:00 AM at the Anderson Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 AM at the St. Philip’s Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville.

Entombment will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name and memory may be made to the American Cancer Society – Rhode Island Chapter, 931 Jefferson Boulevard, Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
