Theresa J. (Duquette) Fortin age 81 of West Bridgewater, died Friday February 4, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was the wife the for 58 years of Louis N. Fortin, Jr. Born in New Bedford and raised in Brockton she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Victoria (Rivers) Duquette. Since 1967 Theresa had been a resident of West Bridgewater.
A longtime member of Teamsters Union Local 25 in Boston, Theresa retired from the Bradlees warehouse in Braintree and had previously worked at Randy Manufacturing in Brockton. In her free time Theresa loved to play bingo, cook and was a terrific baker. She also cherished her time spent with her family, especially the grandchildren and enjoyed hosting many family events at her home.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Louis N. Fortin, III and Victoria DeOrnelas both of Brockton. She was the grandmother of John Ramoska of W. Bridgewater, Christopher Fortin, Leann Leaden, Kristal DeOrnelas, Kristi Fortin and Shawn Fortin all of Brockton and great grandmother of nine. Theresa was the sister of Anna Ferrini of Brockton, Francis Golden of Plattsburg, NY, Edson Duquette of W. Bridgewater and the late Lawrence, Wilfred, Maurice, Robert, Donald, Richard, Alfred and Ralpn Duquette, Rita Loiselle, Dorothy Lachimia, Connie Zarella, Claudette Hayward, Shirley Truman and Nancy Duquette. She also leaves many nieces and nephews including Tom and Sue Duquette of E. Bridgewater who she held a special place in her heart.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Monday Feb. 14, 2011 at 9am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church at 10am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday Feb. 13, 2011 from 3-6 pm.
