Obituary

Mr. Giosue "Joe" Rossetti, of Medford, died February 6, 2011 at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy illness. He was 71. Born in Bonita, Avellino, Italy Joe, as he was known, was the son of Annunziata (D'Ambrosio) & Vincenzo Rossetti.

Joe and his beloved wife Assunta (LoPriore) Rossetti were married in 1961 in Italy. They came to Medford later in 1961, and raised their family. Joe began working at Fleet Fruit Produce Co. in 1961 and in 1981 he would become the owner. He finally retired in 2006. During the 1970's, Joe would coach local baseball and basketball teams. Usually the teams his son Joe played on. He enjoyed watching and playing soccer and was a member of a men's soccer team in 1970. In retirement Joe and his wife wintered in Florida. He enjoyed his bike rides, walks, playing tennis and cards. But most of all he enjoyed all his visits from his loving family, especially his loving grandchildren.

In addition to his beloved wife Assunta, Joe is survived by his children, Nancy Reid and her husband Salvatore of Medford, Joseph Rossetti and his wife Stefanie of NH, Susanna Vigevani and her husband Alberto of Canton and the late Lea Rossetti. Loving Nonno to Christina and Michael Reid, Marissa and Joanna Vigevani. Brother of Leonardo and Mario Rossetti both of Venezuela, Gerardo Rossetti of Stoneham, Antoinetta D'Ambrosio and Pasqualina Rossetti both of Italy, Michelina Tranfaglia of Newton, Angiolina LoPriore of Argentina and Emelia Pepe of Medford. Also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Thursday February 10, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St. Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to come. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Division Of Development - Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, Floor 6, Brookline, MA 02445-9924.
