Lillie M. Willett, 85, of Manchester, NH died Sunday February 6, 2011 in the Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center in Manchester. Mrs. Willett was born in Mowata, LA on August 25, 1925, daughter of the late Layas and Amentha (Blanchard) Rachel. She had resided in Londonderry, NH for more than 40 years, before relocating to Villa Crest in 2001. Mrs. Willett had been employed by Zayre Department Store in Manchester. She was also a member of the Londonderry Fire Department Ladies Auxilliary. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and entertaining family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard "Tom" Willett in 1989 and later by her son, Maurice F. Willett in 2004.
She is survived by her son, Leonard J. Willett and his wife Elaine of Auburn, NH, one granddaughter, Cheryl Goetz of Tulsa, OK, three great-grandchildren, Mallory, Courtney and Zachary, her two sisters, Helen Kratzer of Roanoke, LA, and Beatrice Kibodeaux of Lake Charles, LA, also many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday February 19, 2011 at 10:00am at St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Private burial will be at a later date in Presque Isle, ME. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, of Derry and Londonderry is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Parish Food Pantry, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH 03053.
