Walter C. “Bud” Frye, husband, father, grandfather and friend, died on February 5, 2011. He leaves his wife Margery (Bowman) of Marshfield, MA, children Richard and his wife Jennifer of Duxbury, Nancy and her partner Donna LaScaleia of Townshend, VT, Robert and his partner Ken Gagne of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, grandchildren Alison and Jonathan, sister Marjorie of Quincy, and a lifetime of good friends.
Bud was a graduate of North Quincy High School and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he played basketball and football. Bud and Marge married in 1957 and raised their family in Marshfield, their home for over 50 years. In 1993, he retired as Senior Vice President and co-owner of McIntyre, Fay & Thayer insurance agency, enjoying many years with family and friends while also pursuing his passion for woodworking, furniture restoration, boating and travel. Bud is a past member of the Marshfield Recreation Committee, Chairman of the Marshfield Council on Aging, President of the Marshfield Rotary Club, Treasurer and Senior Warden of Trinity Episcopal Church and Commodore of the North River Yacht Club. Bud’s unrelenting and unconditional commitment to family and his love of friends will forever remain his legacy.
Visiting hours will be Friday, Feb. 11 from 4-8PM at Johnson Hall, Trinity Episcopal Church, 229 Highland St., Marshfield Hills.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 11AM, also at Trinity Church. Burial will be private in the Resurrection Garden at a later date.
