
Helen Vaughn Purser, age 79, died on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at her home in Water Valley, MS. She was born in Lafayette County, MS to the late Earl Eugene and Hazel Leake Vaughn. Helen was a homemaker who loved cooking, canning, and gardening. She especially loved to fish. She loved people and she enjoyed crocheting for her family and friends. Helen was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Izzard officiating. Interment will be in the Owens Cemetery in Abbeville, MS with Eddie Vaughn, Randy (Bubba) Daniels, Vaughn Daniels, Billy Slone, Curtis Dennis and Frank Vaughn serving as pallbearers.
Helen is survived by one daughter, Karla Denise Bennett of Water Valley, MS; one son, Bruce Bennett (Teresa) of Kiln, MS; one sister, Louise Kiewert (Roy) of Cannoga Park, CA; three brothers, Sonny Vaughn (Sue) of Oxford, MS, Earl Vaughn (Edith) and Harry Vaughn (Sue) both of Abbeville, MS; and one granddaughter, Skeet Bennett of Ellisville, MS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. “Buck” Bennett and her husband, Tom Purser; one sister, Dorothy Withrow; three brothers, Willis Vaughn, Carlos Vaughn and Tony Vaughn; and one grandson, Jonathan Bennett.
