James Doyle Westberry, 83, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville.
Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, February 6, 2011 in Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home from noon until the funeral hour.
Mr. Westberry was born August 9, 1927 in Nicholls, Georgia to the late Lemuel and Gussie Bryant Westberry. He lived in Fitzgerald most of his life and was a former resident of Milledgeville, GA and Monroe, LA. Mr. Westberry was a former employee of Fitzgerald Mills. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Westberry is survived by his children: Lemuel Westberry of Jacksonville, Fl, Frances Wilson of Bossier City, LA, Halbert (Susan) Westberry of Fitzgerald, Kevin Dale (Ann) Westberry of Mississippi, Nina Kay(Brian)Camp of Bossier City, LA, Marti Ree Gildon of Louisiana 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sister: Jewell Wright of Jacksonville, FL and a brother: Zeb Westberry as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Smith Westberry.
