Judy Lynn Jurgens age 64 of East Peoria, Illinois passed away at 1:13am Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Manor Care at Riverview in E. Peoria. She was born Sept. 24, 1946 in Aberdeen S. Dakota to Irvin S. and Ila M. (Krueger) Jurgens.
Surviving are her mother of Eau Claire, WI. One aunt Kathryn Jurgens of Millbraye CA, several cousins, and her close friend Jean Wreschnig of Omaha, NE. Judy had many friends both human and canine. She is also survived by her service dog Riker.
Judy retired as Dean of the Business Department at Illinois Central College, she then worked partime at H&R Block Tax Services. She worked with the Come Bye Boarder Collie Rescue Group. Instructor at Dog Sports, and Top Dog; Judy was passionate about dog training and helping others train their dogs. She participated with her dogs in obedience trials and herding events. Member of Willow Hill United Methodist Church in E. Peoria.
Services will be at 11:00am Tuesday Feb. 8, 2011 at Willow Hill United Methodist Church in E. Peoria with Reverend Ken Hogren officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5pm until 7pm at the Church and also one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Aberdeen S. Dakota.
