Billie Joyce Ward, age 70, of West Green, GA passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Ward was the daughter of the late Herman Otis and Annie Atkinson Austin; she was born on September 27, 1940. Mrs. Ward was a member of the West Green Baptist Church and she was a homemaker. A graveside service was held at Lone Hill Church Cemetery on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Roy Taylor officiating. A selection of taped music by Tim McGraw was played. Pallbearers were: Danny Austin, Buddy Stevens, Mike Ward, Tim Ward, Glen Corbitt and Tony Simmons. Survivors include: husband: Quillian Ward, Jr., West Green, GA; daughters: Janet (Don) Davis, west Green, GA; Joy (Mikell) Massey, West Green, GA; son: Jimmy (Sue) Ward, Hazlehurst, GA; sister: Reba Windsor, Greensboro, GA; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
