David Vernie Knowlton, age 67, of Douglas, GA passed away at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Knowlton was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and he was retired from Gold Kist after 26 years. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 in the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Pridgen Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include: wife: Sherry Greene Knowlton, Douglas, GA; son: Chris (Georgia) Knowlton, Canton, GA; daughter: Shari (Scott) Walker, Ellbum, Il; step children: Becky (Keith) Musgrove, Douglas, Ga, Brandy (Tony) Davis; 9 grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Sims Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
