Mary M. Keenan, 90, a longtime Greenville resident, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Fatima Hospital after a short illness. She was the widow of Peter B. Keenan.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Bertha (Rowen) Maguire. She grew up in North Providence and graduated from St. Xavier Academy. With her late husband she operated Keenan Cleaners in Pawtucket. She had also worked at Citizens Bank for 15 years.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. In her retirement she especially enjoyed travel, reading, long walks and being with her beloved grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Philip Church in Greenville and during her retirement years assisted at St. Philip School.
She is survived by her children Peter B. Keenan and his wife Holly-Anne of Greenville and Paula M. Smith and her husband Kevin of Johnston and her grandchildren; Zachary and Sarah Smith and Matthew and Peter Keenan and many nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend, Ernestine Massaro
Funeral services were private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Philip Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI 02828
