John `Johnny` Thomas Walker, 55, Clarksville, died Sunday, January 30, 2011, of a heart attack, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 3 PM Friday at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Randall Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home and from 1 PM until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born in Cheatham County, August 2, 1955, the son of Monroe Walker, Sr. and Birdie Lehman Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Flo Underwood and Ivy Leona Walker, and a brother, Monroe Walker, Jr. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. He is survived by a SPECIAL nephew and friend, Donovan Amundson, one brother, James Walker, eight sisters, Susan Rittenberry, Nancy Grubb, Shirley Simmons, Jewell Morrow, Joyce Morrow, Marie Holt, Anita Clark, and Ann Ragan. Pallbearers will be Donovan Amundson, Jeremy Gibbs, Jim Grubb, Justen Grubb, Mickey Ragan, and Tony Gibbs.
Johnny always expressed his deepest appreciation and love to his brother Monroe and Reba Walker his sister-in-law for the help they gave him throughout his life. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to any Green Bank to the John T. Walker Memorial Fund to help John T's special nephew with emergency housing needs.
