Marilyn N. (Mendez) Wood, 63, of Taunton died unexpectedly on Tuesday January 25, 2011.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of Cleone Mendez-Greene of New Bedford and the late Joseph A. Mendez, and sister of the late Joanne Wills.
She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Weaver Airline Training School in Kansas City, MO.
Marilyn was extremely devoted to her family and left a lasting impression on all whom she met. Since her retirement, she had cared for numerous foster children.
She had been active in the travel industry for many years and owned and operated her own travel agency, Cruizing Along.
Survivors include her mother; her fiancé, Earl Smith of Taunton; her former husband, Richard Wood of Boston; her children, Robert A. Wood and his companion Doria Gomes of New Bedford, Sabriya Targete and her husband Patrick of Canton, Aletha Campbell and her husband Richard of New Bedford, and Cheree Hill and her husband Terrance of Atlanta, GA; many grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
