DUE TO THE EXPECTED SNOW STORM ON WEDNESDAY THE FUNERAL MASS FOR MR. FOLEY HAS BEEN POSTPONED FROM WEDNESDAY TO THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2011 AT 10:00 AM. THE VISITING HOURS WILL STILL BE ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2011 FROM 3-7 PM.


James M. Foley, 92 years young and a lifelong resident of Natick, passed away on January 26, 2011 after enjoying a long & blessed life. He was the devoted husband of the late Marie T. (Linskey) Foley who passed away in 1999 and with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Natick, the son of the late Leonard H. and Katherine (McCooey) Foley, Mr.Foley was educated in the Natick Public Schools, a graduate of Natick High School and Bentley College. He was inducted into the United States Army Air Corp on January 28, 1943 and served honorably with the HQ/SQ 405th Air Service Group during WWII. He was a recipient of the American Theater Campaign Ribbon & the Victory Medal prior to his honorable discharge on February 23, 1946. Mr. Foley was employed as a consultant in the plumbing and heating industry and worked for W. D. Cashin Co. of Boston and Quincy. A devout Catholic, Mr. Foley was a lifelong communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Natick. He was a member of several area prayer groups and made 9 pilgrimages to honor his devotion to the Blessed Mother at Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Mr. Foley enjoyed spending time with family and friends, photography, and traveling.

Mr. Foley was the beloved father and father-in-law of James and Lucy Foley of Norwood, Francis and Doreen Foley of CA, Maria and John Steffey of VA, Kevin and Latifa Foley of VA, Erin and Leo Parker of Natick, Heather and Reilly Flynn of CA, and the late Robert Foley; cherished grandfather of Jacquelyne, Jim, Ken, Lauren, Brandon, Casey, Chris, Reilly, Daniel, and Robert; great-grandfather of Jordan; uncle of Joseph Foley of Ashland, Daniel Foley of CA and other nieces and nephews; and brother of the late Leonard Foley and Joseph Foley and his wife Barbara.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) NATICK on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 9:00 AM to be followed by his Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church, Natick at 10:00 AM. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery; after which family and friends are invited to a lunch reception in the lower hall at St. Patrick’s Church. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 1 from 3-7 PM.
