Louis Jones, 74, the owner of J & W Carpets in Stoughton, died Monday, January 24, 2011, unexpectedly at the Caritas Good Samartian Medical Center in Brockton after being stricken ill at his home. Born in River Rouge, MI, he was raised and educated in Detroit, MI. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Mr. Jones was a resident of Stoughton since 1970. He was the owner of J & W Carpets in Stoughton for many years, retiring in 2009. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods.
He is survived by his two sons, Derek R. Jones of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and Barry L. Jones of Stoughton. He was the grandfather of Stephanie Jones and Derek R. Jones, Jr. He was the brother of Thelma Crowe of MI and the late Robert Lee Taylor.
Funeral Services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton, on Friday night at 8 PM. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the services from 5-8 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Clinic, 1 Joslin Way, Boston, 02115.
