Funeral services for Helen Johns Fitzgerald, 86, of Ashburn will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Perry Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Fitzgerald passed away Wednesday following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the Pine City Cemetery in Wilcox Co., GA.
The daughter of the late Lem Albert Johns and Flossie Farmer Johns Crozier she was born in Macon Co., GA. She had lived on Troutman Rd. in Pitts, GA for a long number of years before moving to Turner Co. She was a member of Pitts Church of God and enjoyed fishing, attending church and writing songs. Mrs. Fitzgerald was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Clarence Fitzgerald.
Survivors include her daughter, Wynelle (Billy) F. Lewis, Sycamore; her grandsons, Dwane (Kippy) Lewis, Ashburn and Danny (Jennifer) Lewis, Chula; her great-grandchildren, Lacey and Olivia Lewis, Ashburn, Christopher and Catherine Lewis, Chula. She is also survived by her brothers Willard Johns, Waycross and L. A. Johns, Niceville, FL; her sister Lucy Edalgo, Vienna.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel until the hour of services.
