Dorothy Tucker, 84, of Ocilla, Georgia died Monday, January 24, 2011, at her daughter’s residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, January 28, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with the Rev. Gary Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in River Bend Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Tucker was born October 24, 1926 in Irwin County to the late Olan and Viola Tucker. She was a homemaker and lived in Ocilla most of her life. Mrs. Tucker enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing and going to the Senior Citizen Center in Ocilla. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her children: Russell Tucker and Joe (Peggy) Tucker of Ocilla, Marshall (Marilyn) Tucker of Fitzgerald, Herman (Rhonda) Tucker of Berrien County, David Tucker and Brenda Love of Fitzgerald, Marilyn (Mike) Rogers, Wanda (Cecil) Spires, Susan (Kenneth) Allen, Ann (Collins) Rowell all of Ocilla; stepson: R.B. (Marion) Tucker of Ocilla; 27 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren; sisters: Bitha Schmidt of Dallas, TX and Inez Rowe of Tyler, TX, as well as, several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, E.D. “Tinks” Tucker, son, Donnie L. Tucker and a daughter, Violet Tucker.
