Obituary

Frederick J. Wheeler, 84, passed away on Jan. 22, 2011 surrounded by his family at Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the husband of Merna (Field) Wheeler, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
Born in New Brunswick, Canada on April 2, 1926, he was the son of the late Frank and Ferne (McBrine) Wheeler. He was raised and educated in Canada and was a veteran of the Canadian Army. Fred and his family moved to the United States in 1956 and had been a Danvers resident since 1972. Fred was the owner and operator of Wheeler Construction, Inc.
Besides his wife Merna, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Robert and Gail Wheeler of Danvers, two granddaughters, Stacy Dunn and her husband Sean of Danvers and Jodi Fish and her husband Peter of Danvers, five great grandchildren, Brittany, Emma and Zachary Dunn and Bobby and Thomas Fish, two sisters, Mary Foster of Toronto, Canada and Nellie DeWitt of Danvers. He was predeceased by two sisters, Edna Christman and Eloise Smith.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, Jan. 28 in Holy Trinity Methodist Church, 16 Sylvan St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody. Vst. Hrs. are Thurs. from 5-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Fred’s name to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA, 01923.
