FOWLER - Evelyn Thomas Fowler, 94, of Fernandina Beach passed away Sunday morning, January 23, 2011 at her residence. She was born March 31, 1916 in Westminster, SC and moved to Nassau County 63 years ago. She was a long-time member of North 14th Street Baptist Church and loved gardening and fishing.
Mrs. Fowler was predeceased by her husband, F. P. Fowler; a son, Kirby Fowler; daughter, Dale Guthrie; four brothers, Elmo, Therian, Willie Frank and Lamar Thomas; and four sisters, Miriam Harper, Katie Obney, Beverly McCullum and Bobbie Kato.
Survivors include a son, Roger (Linda) of Yulee, FL; daughter in law, Debbie of Clarkesville, GA; daughter, Cindy Gray (Tommy) of Fernandina Beach, FL; son in law, Tomy Guthrie (Glenda), also of Fernandina Beach; a sister, Claudia Yaple of Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, at North 14th Street Baptist Church in Fernandina Beach. Interment will follow in Bosque Bello Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Preston Fowler, Glenn Guthrie, Don Fowler, Michael Gray, Brent Fowler and Mike Krenn.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the home of Tommy and Cindy Gray, 1362 Marian Dr., Fernandina Beach.
