KWIATKOWSKI, Charles S.- Of Chelsea, January 22nd. Devoted husband of Mary E. (Leary). Beloved father of Richard Kwiatkowski of Chelsea, Patricia Richard and her husband William of Somerset, NJ and Robert Kwiatkowski of Chelsea. Dear brother of Chester Kwiatkowski of Chelsea and the late John Kwitkor. Cherished grandfather of Tara Kwiatkowski of Melrose, Kristen Kwiatkowski of Tewksbury and Andrew and Brian Richard of Somerset, NJ. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Tuesday, January 25th at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway, Chelsea at 11 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. A lifelong Chelsea resident, Charles, at 88 years of age, passed away at home early Saturday morning after a courageous year long battle with cancer. At 65, he retired as Director of Maintenance for the City of Chelsea Housing Authority. In his retirement, for 21 years ending in January of 2008, Charlie was the crossing guard at the entrance to St. Rose School. A United States Veteran of World War II he was also a member of St. Andrews BBC Club, Dom Savio Fathers Club and Commissioner of the Chelsea Housing Authority.
