Mrs. Rachel E. Jewett, 88, of 1344 East Side River Road, Dummer, NH passed away on Friday January 21, 2011 at her home. She was born in Dummer, NH on February 26, 1922 the daughter of Henry and Constance (Sias) Holt and was a lifelong resident. She had been employed by the SAU school district for many years as a secretary. She was a member of the Dummer Community Church. Rachel had formed the youth choir at the Dummer Methodist Church, and she enjoyed traveling.
Members of the family include her husband Durward Jewett of Dummer, NH; stepchildren Dennis Jewett of Dummer, NH, Lee Jewett of Manchester, NH, Audrey Chadwick of Monroe, NC, Evelyn McManus of Charlotte, NC and Leah Chase of Groveton, NH; step-grandchildren and many cousins.
SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at the Dummer Community Church, Hill Road, Dummer, NH on Monday afternoon January 24, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in the Willis Cemetery in Dummer. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH on Sunday Jan. 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the Dummer Community Church.
