Obituary

GLOUCESTER: William G. “Billy” Williams, Jr., 48, of Wheeler’s Point, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 in the Beverly Hospital following a brief battle with pneumonia, surrounded by his family.
Born in Gloucester on September 7, 1962, he was the son of Margaret (Torrey) Williams of Gloucester and the late William G. Williams. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and attended Gloucester public schools.
Known to most as Billy, he was a person who lived life to the fullest. He had a love for the ocean and fishing and especially the time he spent on the Grand Banks as a sword fisherman. He had also worked in carpentry for many years. He enjoyed being with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sons, Michael Shane Williams, Trenton Chase Williams and Markus James Williams; his former spouse, Heidi (Howlett) Williams; a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Kenneth Pinkham all of Gloucester; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Thomas Williams and Drew Josephson Williams of Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Patrick Williams of Oceanside, CA. He also leaves a niece, Linnea Williams and four nephews, Jeffrey Pinkham, Corey Pinkham, Ryan Pinkham and Dylan Williams.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning in the Our Lady of Good Voyage Church at 9:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Monday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the William G. Williams Scholarship Fund, c/o Cape Ann Saving Bank, 109 Main St., Gloucester, MA 01930. Interment will be held in the Beechbrook Cemetery, West Gloucester.
