Obituary

Roy B. Feinauer, 93, of Derry, NH died Thursday January 20, 2011, at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. He was born in Derry, NH on August 18, 1917, a son of Augustus and Christine (Feinauer) Butman, and had been a lifelong Derry resident. Mr. Feinauer was a WWII US Army Veteran who served with the 306th Air Service Squadron in the North African Campaign. He retired from Sanders Associates in Nashua where he worked as an accountant for 20 years. He was a member of the Derry Rotary Club and was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Rotarian Award. In 2002, he was inducted into the Pinkerton Academy Hall of Fame. Mr. Feinauer was known for hosting "Around the Town with Roy Feinauer" which was broadcast on local cable TV. An active community member, Mr. Feinauer was involved in many local groups and organizations and was honored with the town of Derry's, Living Treasures Award.

He is survived by one daughter, Linda Margolin and her husband Paul of Londonderry, NH; three grandchildren; Kerry, Bonnie and Erin Margolin; also several cousins, and his loyal dog, Pal. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Virginia (Picard) Feinauer.

Following cremation, a calling hour will be held on Saturday February 5, 2011 from 1 -2pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A service of remembrance with military honors will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home.
