Mr. Roy Samuel Oliver, age 80, of Rural Hall, passed away on, January 19, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Caswell County on July 25, 1930 to the late William Thomas and Henrietta Bradner Oliver. Mr. Oliver worked as at Wake Forest University in the Maintenance Department and was a member at Mizpah Moravian Church. Mr. Oliver is survived by three sisters and brother-in-laws, Mary (Gurley) Jobe, Barbara Pearlman and Matilda “Tillie” (William) Frazier; two brothers and sister-in-law, Tom Oliver and Vance (Dora) Oliver; step-daughter, Joyce Ann Cornett; step-granddaughter, Marie Harper; step-son-in-law, Gary Jarrell; several nieces and nephews and a beloved friend, Virginia Pegram. He was preceded in death by Ruth Newsom Oliver and step-daughter, Belinda Jarrell. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Mizpah Moravian Church at 4:00 P.M with the Rev. Tim Sapp officiating with interment to follow at the Wolff Cemetery in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the services. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nursing staff at Village Care of King for their love and care during the past year.
