Edward F. Joyce Jr.
...Retired U.S. Postal Expediter, 72
TEWKSBURY - Edward F. Joyce, Jr., age 72, died unexpectedly in his home on Wednesday, January 19, after a courageous five year battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Frances A. (Conforto) Joyce, with whom he celebrated their forty-fourth wedding anniversary last June 19th.
He was born in Winchester on December 23, 1938, the son of the late Edward F., Sr. and Pauline (Coleman) Joyce. He was raised in Woburn, and had lived in Medford for twenty five years before moving to Tewksbury in 1992. He was a Korean War Army Officer with an expertise in marksmanship.
He recently retired from the U.S. Postal Service of N. Reading after 42 years of service.
He was a gifted artist who liked to draw, an avid gardener with a "green thumb," most passionate about spending time in his flower and vegetable gardens. He was also a devoted family man and provider. He was greatly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife, Frances, he is survived by his daughter, Kristen M. Joyce, and son, Derek J. Joyce, both of Tewksbury, and his loyal pets.
At his request, a private service will be held in his honor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701, will be appreciated.
