Obituary

Charles W. Ford age 96 a lifelong resident of Canton passed away at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton January 18th. Born in Boston, he was raised in Canton and graduated from St. John’s High School. He also attended Court Stenography Classes at Boston University and attended Northeastern University. He was an Army Veteran of WW II and during the war he served as a Stenographer for the Secretary of War, Henry Stimson, and in this position travelled throughout Canada, Iceland, the United Kingdom, and N. Africa. He later worked as the Court Stenographer for Suffolk Probate Court for many years and also worked as the Stenographer at the Canton Town Meetings starting in 1951 for many years. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2095 in Canton and the Canton Senior Men’s Club. Beloved husband of Agatha L. (DiBella). Father of Charles Gregory Ford of Brookline, Bruce Ford of Onset & John F. Ford and his wife Amy of Canton. Grandfather of Matthew, Sgt. Ryan USMC, Timothy & Devin Ford & Jessica Diaz & her husband Angel. Great grandfather of Isaiah Diaz. Funeral from the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Saturday morning at 9:30, followed by a funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton at 10:30. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 pm. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the Canton Veteran’s Service Department 801 Washington St. Canton, MA 02021.
