Joseph Andrew Velardi, 64, of Medway, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at his home. He was the husband of Catherine P. (Badalucco) Velardi whom he married in 1970.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on August 22, 1946, he was the son of the late Henry and Marie (LaPlaca) Velardi.
Mr. Velardi was a resident of Medway since 1973 and formerly resided in Brooklyn, New York. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for six years and attained the rank of Sergeant.
Mr. Velardi worked from home as a systems analyst for Autodesk, Inc. of San Rafael, CA for 10 years and formerly worked for NEC Information Systems for 20 years.
Mr. Velardi liked to golf and bowl and enjoyed fishing.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Andrew Peter Velardi of North Attleboro, his daughter, Laura Ann Manchester and her husband John of the Back Bay section of Boston and his mother-in-law Millie Badalucco of Medway.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday, January 21 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7– 9 p.m.
