Obituary

P. Joseph Kenney Esq. age 91 of Medway died January 18 in the Medway Country Manor. He was the husband of Mary T. (Quinlivan) Kenney. He was also the husband of the late Margaret (Lee) Kenney.
Born in Milford, September 22, 1919, the son of the late Peter J. and Catherine (Kearnan) Kenney, Mr. Kenney was a lifelong Medway resident.
Mr. Kenney was a 1937 graduate of Medway High School. He was also a graduate of Northeastern University and Boston College Law School Class of 1947.
Mr. Kenney, a lawyer, had operated his law practice in Medway from 1948-1998 when he retired.
He had previously worked as a FBI Special Agent from 1942-1945 and had been the head of security for the J. H. White company from 1946-1947.
Mr. Kenney was a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Norfolk County Bar Association, and the Hearing Committee of the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers. He had been legal counsel and member of the Board of Trustees of the Medway Savings Bank, and legal counsel and member of the Board of Directors of the Medway Co-Operative Bank.
Mr. Kenney served the Town of Medway as Town Moderator and Town Counsel.
He was a founding member of the Medway Little League.
He enjoyed Boston College and New England Patriots Football. Mr. Kenney’s family and the times he spent with them were his greatest delight.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kathleen K. Bresnahan and her husband John J. Bresnahan, Jr. of South Chatham, Mary Lee Navis and her husband Peter of Walpole, Stephen J. Kenney and his wife Julie of Medway, Paul V. Kenney and his wife Kathleen of Medway and Robert J. Kenney and his wife Stephanie of Medway.
He was the father of the late Peter J. Kenney who died in 1980.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, January 22 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 10:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church at 11:00.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
