Ferrara, Josephine Delores (nee Casuccio), 96, of Hawthorne formerly of Teaneck passed away Monday January 17, 2011 at Englewood Hospital in Englewood, NJ
Josephine was predeceased by her beloved husband Jerry M. Ferrara of the New Jersey Gasoline Retailers Assoc. her mother, Angelina Casuccio-Preziozo, brothers, Thomas, John, Freddie Prezioso, Joseph & Ralph Casuccio and sisters Blanche Spinosa; Viola Sangillo, Philomena (Fanny) Luedtke, and Eleanor Casuccio.
Devoted Mother of, and survived by daughters: Mary Ann Ferrara, of Ridgefield & Little Silver, Geraldine Wondrack and her husband Daniel of Teaneck, Patricia Kusnic and her husband Robert of Toms River, Christina Frith and her husband Stephen of Glen Rock, Eleanor Gabriella Ferrara of Harding Township, Francine Schults and her husband George of Sea Bright. Also survived by grandchildren, Jennifer, & Brian Wondrack, and his wife Rebecca; Theresa & Joseph Hansen and his partner Nadine Shatab; Matthew & Vanessa Frith; great grandchildren Gavin Wondrack and Brianna Hansen; brother-in-law Michael J. Ferrara and his wife Grace, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Josephine was born in Alpha NJ, lived in Union City before moving to Teaneck where she was an active member in the Holy Rosary and Altar and Scapula Societies of St. Joseph’s Church, Bogota, NJ, Josephine also was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and enjoyed travelling and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday Jan 20 from 7-9 pm and Friday Jan 21 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Volk Leber Funeral home 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 am Saturday, Jan.22 at St. Joseph’s Church, Bogota, NJ. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery Hackensack Ave., Hackensack, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the St. Joseph’s School, 131 East Fort Lee Road, Bogota, NJ 07603, for the Jerry and Josephine Ferrara Memorial Scholarship fund.
