William P. Johnston, 87, passed away on January 14th, 2011. He was born in Everett on June 29th, 1923 to his parents Kyran and Mary (Farrell) Johnston. William was raised in Everett and is a graduate of Everett High School and Boston College. For many years, he worked for the Middlesex Superior Court as the First Assistant Clerk. Bill was an avid sports fan, a life member at the Irish American Association in Malden and was also a member of the Malden Eagles. He is survived by his children, Anne Marie Jenkins of Thornton, NH and Paul Johnston and his wife Roxie of Medford and Derry, NH; by his son-in-law Michael McGonagle of Wayland; by his grandchildren John, Dennis, Karen, Tim, Stephen, Eric and Jeremy; and by his great grandchildren Brayden, Ethan and Trenton. Along with his parents, William was predeceased by his wife Marion (Ferguson) Johnston and by his daughter Patricia McGonagle. A funeral service will be held at the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Friday January 21st at 12 Noon. Services will conclude with interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home prior to the service on Friday from 10 AM to 12 PM only.
