Mr. J. Keith Johnson
Augusta, GA –Mr. J. Keith Johnson, 61, entered into rest on the morning of January 18th, 2011.
Keith was born in Norfolk, VA on May 1, 1949. He graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from Old Dominion University, where he met his future wife, Martha. Keith worked in industrial sales for 20 years in the Augusta area, but his first love was painting sacred art, which he did full-time for the past 10 years. Keith was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Alleluia Community since 1978. In addition to art, Keith loved the outdoors and he instilled in his boys the same passion for hunting and fishing.
Keith is survived by his wife of 40 years, Martha and his four sons: Fr. John Johnson of Washington, DC, Judah and his wife Miek, David, and Levi Johnson, all of Augusta, and his beloved dog Amos.
Keith will be remembered by all those who knew him for his ability to love and his capacity for intimate friendships. We will miss his easy laugh and his big bear hugs. We love you Keith.
A prayer service will be held Thursday, January 20th, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be Friday, January 21st, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in the Alleluia Cemetery to follow.
