Kenneth Whetstone, 82, of Washington, passed away at his home at 5:45 a.m., Monday, January 17, 2011.
Kenneth was born on April 26, 1928 in Saline County, Illinois to Oscar and Monnie Summers Whetsone. He married Wilma Adams in West Frankfort on December 24, 1948. Wilma survives.
Also surviving is one son, Kenneth Whetstone of Washington; three daughters, Marcia (Ken) Bryant, Cheryl (Tim) Shaw and Lita (Josh) Williams all of Peoria; one brother, William (Hazel) Whetstone of Hanna City; three sisters, Helen Bertram of Vernal, Utah, Wilma (Ken) Schafer of LeSeuer, Minnesota and Imogene (Robert) Secretan of Peoria; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Kenneth was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Kenneth had worked for Keystone Steel and Wire for more than 30 years prior to his retirement in 1990.
He will always be remembered for helping family and friends in time of need.
Memorials services for Kenneth will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, January 20 at Mason-White Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Williams officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
