Flanagan, Arthur Leo, Born on July 31, 1935 of Marshfield, MA and Naples, Fl. Passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the age of 75 after a brave battle with Multiple Myeloma. Beloved Husband of Sheila Harrington Flanagan. Devoted father of David and Patty Flanagan of Walpole, Joanne and Kevin Douglas of Reading, and Paul and Joanne Flanagan of Marshfield. Proud Grandfather of Eric, Jennie and Jeffrey Douglas, Brian, Matthew and Kelsey Flanagan, Neil and Julia Flanagan. Loving brother of John Flanagan of York, ME, Kathleen Curran, Mary Duhy and Margaret Geraughty of Malden. Predeceased by Older brother William Flanagan. Loving Brother –in-law of Cornelia and Russ Braese of Woburn and Helen Dolan of Winchester. Beloved Uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Arthur graduated from Malden High School, attended Northeastern University and served in the army as First Sergeant of the 94th Infantry.
He worked in retail for 16 years at Sears Roebuck and 25 years with Jordan Marsh and Macy’s as VP of Operations. Devoted Parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Christine’s Church.
Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St, Rte 139, Marshfield Friday Jan 21, at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St Christine's Church 1095 Main St Marshfield at 10:00 am.
Visiting hour Thursday from 4 to 8 pm.
Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery Marshfield.
