Obituary

John T. “Jack” Kelly, 71, passed away at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on January 14th, 2011. He was born on June 30th, 1939 to his parents John and Anne (Houghton) Kelly. Jack was raised and educated in Malden and is a graduate of Malden Catholic High School, Class of 1957. After graduation he attended Wentworth Institute in Boston where he received his degree in Engineering. For over 35 years he served as the City Engineer for the City of Malden and also co-owned and operated the J & B Survey Company. He was a member of the Irish American Association in Malden, the Mystic Valley Gun Club and the Malden Anglers Club. He is survived by his wife, Carole A. (Dello Russo) Kelly of Malden; by his children, John T. Kelly Jr. and his wife Nicol of Weston, Florida and Kristen Kelly-Macrina of Wrentham; by his grandchildren Briana, Sam and Paul; by his sisters, Joan M. Keating of Milton and Ann B. Kelly of Saugus; and by his dear friend Nancy Goodhue and her daughter Nicole of Saugus. Jack is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Thursday January 20th at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday January 19th from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hallmark Hospice, 178 Savin St., Malden, MA 02148.
